Our Story

As a women-owned, black-owned business, we center mindfulness, herbal education and access for our communities.

Founded in 2020 during the pandemic, EarthScale began as a healing pit stop for my village.  My education and work in nonprofit fueled my inspiration for creating a holistic wellness shop.

Black Americans have an early history with herbalism, with our enslaved ancestors bringing seeds woven into their hair from their homelands. Herbalism was not only a way to connect with nature, but it also provided spiritual fulfillment during brutal times.

Knowing the many racial disparities my communities face today (food deserts, digital divide, healthcare access, mental health, education system), creating pathways to natural ways of healing was crucial.

As an intersectional brand, our mission is twofold: to facilitate mindfulness and to educate and uplift marginalized communities about the benefits of herbalism.

Meet the Astro Herbalist

About

My name is Alyissa and I'm a Black and Puerto Rican self-taught herbalist, astrologer and creative from Cleveland, OH. I graduated with my bachelor's in Nonprofit Administration because I always knew I wanted to help others, but not in the conventional ways. As I began my journey of healing, I wanted to help others return to themselves with love, starting with their bodies.

In short: I'm a student, daughter, sister, writer, creator, thinker, feeler, and be-er. Thank you for joining me on this journey.

Love,

Alyissa
